The Visit

This past weekend we were visited by Mark's niece, Janae and I was able to meet her family for the first time. Just like she did in Provo, she treated us to some yummy Easter treats-thanks Janae! Ed was horrible, but Danielle was really good and the girls really enjoyed playing with her. I guess if Danielle had been around again today she could have been the Good Fairy instead of Ed. No offence to Ed, but Danielle definately would have made a daintier, cuter fairy. I tried to get some pix of Danielle, since Janae's camera doesn't focus. My problem was that my house is very poorly lit and I have an aversion to using the flash. No offence to you flash users-I just don't know how to use it properly. In any case I thought I would share this little cutey with you. The Dorito mouth is totally my fault not Janae's. To be honest, I thought the faux cheese was cute on her. I am sure Janae won't mind since she is on her blog and Janae knows I only have like 3 readers-all of which are the same as hers. I can't believe it has taken this long to see these guys since they only live an hour and a bit away.

New Hampshire Winter

I thought I would finally take the time to post some of our pictures from our holiday visit to New Hampshire last year. The girls are always in search of snow and I am fairly certain that last year in New Hampshire, they saw more snow than they could have imagined. They had fun sledding, tramping, drawing, and just having all around fun in the snow. I have to admit, I had a good time building my first ever full-sized snowman. Notice how perfectly round his body is. Some of my best work. Most likely there will be more snow pictures as I play catchup.

I Just Had To

One night when Lucy was doing her homework, I had to run and get my camera because she was just too cute. The look on her face, I remember being there.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake

Not what you were expecting-is it? Yes, it really is just a regular cake with store-bought chocolate cookies stuck all over the sides of it. Maya had the idea for this cake weeks ago and last week we finally made it. She was thrilled. Since we are on the topic of recipes I have to share this great one for pretzels or bagels or chewy bread-like sculptured anything. Since we are having ourselves a Super Saver March, we are attempting to go as long as possible without having to go grocery shopping and takeaways are not allowed whatsoever so we are getting a little creative. For dinner last night the girls shaped their dough into whatever and we also covered some hot dogs in our pretzel dough. I have to admit, I was impressed but I am also starving. I haven't eaten a hot dog in like 5 years so for me to cave last night... In any case, feel free to try the recipe, super easy, way fun and yum yum.

Return of the Thief

I really enjoy how when Ed wants something he just goes and gets it. Sometimes this little perk does have its disadvantages like when he brought me the eggs and told me "cook egg". Fortunately no eggs were harmed in the delivery. Even then, the only reason he brought them to me was because the day before I caught him trying to peel one that was raw. Hey, how is he to know the difference between boiled and raw?
On this particular day I caught Ed once again stealing my strawberries-only this time it was not from my garden. He enjoyed lining them up in a row before eating them. I guess you can't take the tidy kiwi out of him. :)

So Happy

Is anyone else happy to have the Spring Oreos in stores right now? It is my belief that the best oreos are the seasonal ones-the perfect amount of stuff and a fresher chocolate cookie. Yum Yum.
